Te Pūmanawa Tangata
Through the study of Phase 5 Social Sciences, students build on knowledge and practices developed in earlier phases. Students | mokopuna deepen their understanding of how people, places, and societies function and change over time. They develop the ability to inquire into social issues by gathering and evaluating evidence, considering different perspectives and using Te Ao Māori frameworks of thinking, to make sense of the world. This enables them to ask meaningful questions, explore ideas, and understand social, cultural, economic, and environmental interconnections in ways that are purposeful, relevant, and connected to personal, local, national, and global experiences.
