He tāruke pirita
He Kōrero Tātai
The taruke pirita is a crayfish trap made from supplejack and kiekie. By the sea in Whanarua, in the heart of Te Whānau-a-Apanui, the people are reviving crayfish harvesting practices to avoid unecessary stress to the crayfish, bycatch, and wastage caused by other methods.
