This year marks the 50th anniversary of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori a significant milestone and powerful movement that began in 1975 with the Māori language petition. Half a century later, we honour the legacy of those who fought for the revitalisation of te reo Māori and celebrate the progress made in embedding and normalising Māori language into our everyday lives.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary, we’re sharing a collection of resources that have been designed to enrich planning and inspire deeper engagement with te reo Māori in your classroom. These materials aim to support teachers to create meaningful learning experiences that reflect the importance of te reo Māori for all students.
