There was an ancestor from Te Hiku o Te Ika named Tōhē. He was a descendant of Pōhurihanga and Maieke. These were very well known ancestors in those days. Pōhurihanga was a chief on the Kurahaupo canoe, and according to the elders, Kurahaupo entered at Takapaukura.
