New He Kōrero Tātai books available

Three new publications have been released as part of the He Kōrero Tātai series. Class sets have been sent to all kura containing printed books and multi-media copies are on this website.
He Kōrero Tātai is designed to support Te Takanga o Te Wā in Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.
The series contains a variety of stories and articles written by Māori author to engage students and support their reading development and knowledge of significant moments in Aotearoa history.
Each book is available as Google slides with audio, accompanying kaiako support materials (KSM), and additional digital content for one of the articles in each book.
The three new publications include:
- He Reo Wahimana celebrates those who have worked to bring Māori language and history to the forefront of Aotearoa, from the petition by school students calling for a National Day of Remembrance for the New Zealand wars to wāhine at the forefront of te reo revitalisation and a heartwarming story of one whanau’s relationship with te reo through the generations.
Tū ake Whawahi which charts significant moments in the fight for Māori rights, including the formalisation of te reo as a language, the role of waiata in protest movements and profiles of leading wāhine at the forefront of the fight for land, language and people.
I Ahatia Te Ngākau Tapatahi looks at what it means to have integrity. The articles range from the story of a young person struggling with their identity to the integrity of the law and its role in suppressing Māori and the fight against racist policies that disproportionally targeted Pacific migrants.
